Common Pleas Judge, Michael Russo ordered that 52-year-old Ariel Castro undergo a competency evaluation to determine if he fully understands the 329 charges that have been filed against him in connection with the kidnappings of 32-year-old Michelle Knight, 27-year-old Amanda Berry, and 23-year-old Gina DeJesus. His charges include rape, kidnapping, and aggravated murder. Both the prosecutor and the defense team believe that Castro is competent to stand trial, and are eager to move forward.
