According to a $1.2 million filed by Lisa Jackson, the former general manager of Geogia-based Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House that Deen and her brother Earl “Bubba” Heirs own, there were incidents of discrimination, sexual harassment, assault, emotional distress and other claims. Jackson is also suing for racial discrimination that her staff apparently faced, with the now infamous request from Deen to provide African-Americans for a plantation-style wedding for her brother. Although Deen admitted in a deposition that she used the “n-word” in the past, there is no evidence that Jackson heard Deen say the word during her time with the company according to Perez Hilton on June 28....
